DPWH -CAR closes Benguet-Viscaya Road due to slippage

Baguio City – July 1,2026 – Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH)-Cordillera announced that the Benguet-Nueva Vizcaya Road is not passable as of June 28, 2026, due to the road slip along Barangay Beckel in La Trinidad, Benguet.
The road slip, which was caused by typhoons in 2025 has been aggravated due to the recent heavy rains affecting the area.
Motorists are advised to pass through alternate routes at the Marlboro Beckel Road and the Labey-Lacamen Road along Tublay and Bokod in Baguio City since July 1, 2026.
The Baguio – Nueva Vizcaya is a major thoroughfare for commuters and commerce that connects Eastern Benguet, Nueva Vizcaya, Cagayan Valley and serves as an alternate route for Mt.Province, Ifugao and Kalinga.
