As the Rotary International changes its theme to Creating Lasting Change from Unite for Good, the leadership of Cluster 1-C changed too. Former Assistant Governor Anna Liza Chan turned the symbolic gavel to incoming Assistant Governor Chris Faelnar for Rotary Year 2026-2027 at the Hotel Supreme Convention Center, Titanium Hall last June 25, 2026.

PP Chan thanked the leaders and members of the ten-member clubs of Baguio City and La Trinidad for their accomplishments and contributions to the year. She said, “Rotary’s leadership is about respecting differences.” She said that her goal was to stand beside the leaders and behind each initiative of the leaders. “Rotary is built by committed leaders,” she noted that even with difficulties, they served to leave the lives in communities better when they left them. She encouraged the presidents to continue to touch lives in the communities that they serve.

Incoming Assistant Governor Faelnar told incoming presidents and leaders that “when Rotarians work together, we become a powerful force for service.” The new Rotary Year to create lasting impact challenges Rotarians to look beyond temporary accomplishments and focus on meaningful, sustainable, and transformative service, he said. The communities uplifted, and the hope left behind are what the leaders should work for.

He asked the leaders to inspire each other to find renewed purpose in service and to share best practices that will endure.

Awards were given to the outgoing presidents and secretaries of the Rotary Clubs of Baguio, Baguio Highlands, Baguio North, Baguio South, Baguio Summer Capital, Baguio Sunrise, Creative City Baguio, Downtown Session, La Trinidad, and Metro Baguio. The various accomplishments in the Areas of Focus by the clubs were also acknowledged.

Meanwhile, District Governor Danilo Torres noted that the cluster was the heartbeat of Rotary District 3790 given the contributions to the major programs of the Rotary International. He lauded PP Anna Liza as the powerhouse of the Cluster and most outstanding leader in the District.

DG Torres said that the turnover was going to capable hands of AG Faelnar. He said to roll up sleeves for the next year and term.

In closing he said, “Lets continue to unite for good and create lasting impact.”
