The Cordillera News Agency Foundation (CNA) is a non-stock corporation in 1986 founded by a group of media professionals, artists, and persons concerned with the Cordillera. The founding members are Adelaida Lim Perez, Fr. Pat Guyguyon, Lota Leung, Jose “Pepot” Ilagan, Baboo Mondonedo, and Domecio Cimatu.
Cordillera News Agency Mission
The Cordillera News Agency believes in working collaboratively in community empowerment, in promoting the equitable sharing of resources, and preservation of culture and environment, furthering concerns in health, education, food security, and current issues in the mountain region. The Cordillera News Agency Foundation, Inc. (CNA) was amended in 1989 with these purposes;
- to promote the free flow of information from and into the Cordilleras;
- to develop various communications media in the Cordilleras;
- to offer the nation, and the rest of the world, an insight into the Cordilleras via print, broadcast, and film works on the region;
- to cooperate with the duly-constituted authorities in carrying out a program for full communications development in the Cordilleras; and
- to mobilize all resources, including those forthcomings from international agencies, for the promotion and preservation of the indigenous Cordillera tribal cultures.
