Baguio Giant Mandala bids for a Guinness Record
In a bid to hit a mark in the Guinness Book of World Records, Adelaida Guia of Baguio City weighed in her 32 kilograms crocheted mandala at the Victory Liner Drop & Go Parcel Service last July 7, 2025.
Guia spent over eight hours daily for two months crocheting her biggest mandala project with varied patterns of concentric circles. A member of Baguio Imagineer, Guia is determined to be the holder of the world record for Biggest Mandala by a Single Person in Guinness.
Her bid is supported by the Baguio City government’s Creative Baguio City Council (CBCC), the University of the Philippines-Baguio SILBI Office, and other civic minded individuals.
Measuring twice the size of her last giant mandala, well-wishers, friends and supporters of Guia are hopeful that a Baguio-based artisan will be a recipient of a worldwide distinction. Arthur Tibaldo
