No traffic along Baguio City’s Session Road due to the fuel price hike.
Baguio City – Vehicular traffic in Baguio City’s Central Business District (CBD) has been observed to be on a downtrend, according to the Baguio Traffic Enforcement Unit.
Night time motorists are outnumbered by pedestrians.
Police Corporal Jeeford O. Calpi of the Baguio City Police Traffic Enforcement staff reported that since Thursday, March 13, 2026, traffic along major CBD routes—including Session Road, Magsaysay Avenue, and connecting streets—has noticeably eased. Calpi attributed the decline to successive fuel price hikes triggered by the ongoing conflict in the Middle East. Rising oil prices in the global market have discouraged many local motorists from using their vehicles.
The Summer Capital of the Philippines typically experiences heavy traffic during weekends due to the influx of tourists from neighboring provinces. The unusually low volume of cars this season has therefore drawn attention from traffic authorities.
