BAGUIO CITY – What started as a routine bill payment turned into a pleasant surprise for Barangay Kagawad George Facsoy of Holy Ghost Extension when he was named one of the winners in the BENECO Shares Up, Power Up! Promo raffle draw held on February 2, 2026.
Facsoy admitted he was initially doubtful when Punong Barangay Gene Gallente informed him that his name had been drawn as the second prize winner, entitling him to ₱7,500.00 for his share capital contribution. “Kunak nga mapanak man agbayad ketdi ti bill ko idiay BENECO, tapno maverify ko, baka scam dayta,” Facsoy recalled. (“I decided to go to BENECO to pay my bill so I could verify it, as it might be a scam.”)
His skepticism quickly turned into joy when Ofelia Biagtan, BENECO Collection Supervisor, confirmed his identity and eligibility to claim the prize. Facsoy expressed gratitude for the unexpected blessing, saying he had not even been aware of the promo but regularly adds to his share capital whenever he has extra funds.
As a community leader, Facsoy said he is eager to spread the word about the program to fellow barangay officials and constituents. He encouraged member-consumer-owners to increase their share capital, noting that the minimum contribution is ₱2,000.00.
He also suggested inviting BENECO to their barangay to discuss its programs and initiatives. The idea was welcomed by Assistant General Manager Artemio Bacoco and NNSD Manager Ramel Rifani, who expressed readiness to engage with communities.
The Shares Up, Power Up! Promo is part of BENECO’s continuing efforts to strengthen member-consumer-owner participation and support. With more raffle draws lined up, consumers are encouraged to invest in their share capital for a chance to win while contributing to the cooperative’s growth.
Watch out for the next raffle draw.
