Random sights in the Benguet mountainside

The random Sunday road trip on motorcycles with Roland Wong and Cesar Cheong on a circuitous route around the towns of Atok, Kibungan, and Kapangan was a colorful visual explosion.

Starting early from Baguio City we rode through the different areas of the municipality of Atok – Saddle, Naguey, and Pasdong. This was an uphill rides towards Lubo in Kibungan that exited in Boklawan, Kapangan. There we met up with Roland’s or Chongloy’s folks for some late lunch in Taba-ao, Kapangan and exchanged pleasantries.

The rural scene was spectacular as golden heirloom rice grains, gabi, and trellised vegetables dotted the hand carved rice terraces. The headwaters of Amburayan is a soothing visual welcome for tired riders as locals cool off in its banks.

Folks attending Mass as a way to thank God for blessings of a bountiful harvest that will come soon and a healthy life amidst the global wars and pandemics.

As the day ride ended, the Jupiter and Saturn conjunction was a welcome sight along Longlong, La Trinidad. Surely, the wind on one’s face is a good respite for the year among friends at Chongloy’s News Network (CNN) where friends converge.
