Tublay, Benguet — March 26, 2026. Operatives of the Police Regional Office Cordillera Administrative Region (PRO CAR) and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA)-CAR uncovered a marijuana greenhouse in Barangay Caponga, Tublay, Benguet during the implementation of a search warrant earlier today.

The farm at Caponga, Tublay is cordoned off by operatives of the PRO CAR and PDEA CAR.

According to the Police Information Office, the operation stemmed from an intensified follow-up investigation after the arrest of the greenhouse owner during a successful buy-bust operation in the same barangay on March 12, 2026. Subsequent monitoring led to the issuance of a search warrant on March 24, 2026, by the Regional Trial Court, First Judicial Region, in La Trinidad, Benguet.

Deputy RD for Operations PCOL Ledon D. Monte and PD of BPPO PCol Lambert A. Suerte join the search warrant implementation.

The search warrant was implemented under the leadership of PBGEN Ericson D. Dilag, Regional Director of PRO CAR, and Mr. Martin R. Francia, Regional Director of PDEA-CAR. They were joined by PCOL Ledon D. Monte, Deputy Regional Director for Operations, and PCOL Lambert A. Suerte, Provincial Director of the Benguet Police Provincial Office, along with their operating units RIU-14 and PDEA-CAR. Representatives from the local government and members of the media were present to ensure transparency in the documentation process.

Alleged owner of the greenhouse is served the search warrant by police officers.

During the operation, authorities discovered and uprooted 90 fully grown marijuana plants cultivated inside the greenhouse, with a Standard Drug Price (SDP) of ₱18,000.00. The seized plants were inventoried on-site in the presence of required witnesses. Samples were preserved and turned over to the Regional Forensic Unit–CAR for laboratory examination, while the rest were destroyed to prevent replanting.

PBGEN Dilag emphasized the importance of proactive engagement among police personnel, barangay officials, and community leaders to ensure early detection and prevention of illegal drug activities. He underscored that vigilance, coordination, and strong community partnerships remain vital in sustaining the region’s anti-illegal drug campaign.

This operation highlights the continuing collaboration between law enforcement agencies and the community in combating illegal drugs. PRO CAR, through its Police Information Office, reiterates its call for public vigilance and encourages the timely reporting of suspicious activities to help achieve a safer and drug-free Cordillera.
