The City Government and the Benguet Electric Cooperative (BENECO) announced a scheduled power interruption on Saturday, March 28, 2026, from 8:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. in support of the global observance of Earth Hour 2026.

The one-hour outage will affect selected areas in Baguio City, including parts of Bayan Park Village, East Bayan Park, South Central Aurora Hill, Brookspoint, and Ambiong.  It will also cover La Trinidad town particularly portions of Ambiong (Central, Upper Riverside, Upper Ambiong, and Botiwtiw).

The advisory was issued in response to a request from the City Environment and Parks Management Office (CEPMO), which is leading the local observance of Earth Hour.

BENECO said they support the activity which is also part of efforts to raise awareness on energy conservation and environmental protection.

The cooperative estimates that around 782 kilowatt-hours of energy will be saved during the one-hour shutdown, equivalent to about PHP 6,359.

Residents in the affected areas are advised to take necessary precautions and plan accordingly during the scheduled interruption.

They are also encouraged to participate in Earth Hour by switching off non-essential lights and appliances.
