Twin wins in just two weeks in international motorsport competitions has catapulted young Filipino car racer Iñigo Navarrete Anton as a rookie sensation in Formula 4 racing Championships.

Iñigo Anton as Rookie Cup Winner.
Anton’s first milestone was the overall Rookie Championship in Formula 4 racing, a highlighting his exceptional talent and determination to shine in international motorsport competitions.

Another victory came  as he clinched the gold medal in the Asia-Pacific Motorsport Championship (APMC) slalom karting event in Sri Lanka that continued to bring pride and glory to the Philippines forging his mark in motorsport competition.

The Baguio bred young car racer coached by former F1 driver Alex Yoong won the Southeast Asia F4 Rookie Championship against drivers from 11 countries.

He achieved convincing victories in Sepang, Malaysia; Buriram and Bangsaen in Thailand on his way to clinching the coveted title.

The young car racer then went to Sri Lanka to represent the Philippines at the Asia-Pacific Motorsport Competition where he once again won the gold medal at the karting slalom event over 32 of the region’s best racers.

Anton’s gold medal, along with another gold, two silvers, and two bronze medals from his equally talented team mates ensured the Philippine overall crown. Host Sri Lanka took home the silver with Malaysia taking the bronze.

The bi-annual event saw 210 racers from 26 nations competing in different forms of motorsport like karting, close car, Gymkhana, and e-sports.

“I still cannot believe it! An F4 title, a gold medal and being part of the team that put our country at number one in the whole Asia-Pacific region! My dream has come true! Proud Pinoy here,” Anton said.

“Our congratulations go to Iñigo for his outstanding performances,” said Peter Yung of Motul Philippines Infinities.”

“His dedication and hard work inspire countless young Filipinos and elevate the Philippines’ reputation in motorsport worldwide,” he added.

Iñigo remarked in messenger, “Race 2 was under wet and tricky conditions. Starting from 3rd, I had to dice it out with tough competition. We managed to get P2 halfway through the race, but from there it was all about defense. After intense pressure from the guys behind, we managed to hold it together and come home with my second podium of the year!”

“Thank you @blackartsracingbar and @alexyoongf1 for guiding me through my first wet race. It was fun out there and super stoked with the results,” he said.

Car racer and father Carlos Anton thanked the local media for the news releases that supported the sport during a press conference on 4 October 2025.
