TUBA, BENGUET — A massive mudslide struck Sitio Begis along Marcos Highway in Tuba, Benguet, on 22 September 2025, as heavy rains from Tropical Storm Nando pounded the region.

The landslide swept away four vehicles, including a tanker, along the road. One driver was killed from severe head injuries, while four passengers in a silver Toyota Innova sustained injuries.

Authorities immediately launched clearing operations to remove mud and debris and restore the flow of traffic along the Palispis–Aspiras Highway, a vital route connecting Benguet to neighboring provinces.

Local officials have urged motorists to remain vigilant, as continuous rains may trigger additional landslides in the area.
