The red panel of inabel or handwoven material is used to accent the slit like a cuff. Embroidery accents the top to have a slimmer effect.
Celebrating local woven fabrics and designs in Paris, France 10 October 2025, Cordillera designers and artisans joined haute couture with “Tapis and Baag” on the runways.
Sulihiya style bodice accent the top with bamboo woven panels and a tapestry woven skirt.
The spirit of the Filipino people was displayed on one of the world’s most prestigious fashion stages through the highland apparels. Each thread of Inabel told of the ancestors, mountains, resilience, and the artistry of hands that weave not just fabric, but the Cordillera identity.

In Paris, amid the flash of lights and the pulse of couture, the Inabel was living proof of the ingenuity of the Filipinos and who they can become. This was a welcoming of a heritage in a modern, global space. A celebration of artistry, and a promise that Filipino craftsmanship competes in the world market.
With a combination of solihiya or bamboo weaving and the traditional weaving patterns of fabrics, the evening gowns and formal wear were unique.
The show was produced by @Parish City Fashion Week with creative director/designer Ginalyn Brown-Tayag and collaborating artists Kyle Jon Kiat-ong Tultog.
The featured woven materials were from: Rosalina Salifad, Chayos Woven Products, Shirley Lomong-ey and Team Paris with Marclen Ricafort, Jared Forster, Jackie Forster, and Galilei Roma. Special mention is given to the Philippine Embassy France.
