5) Rockshed and slope protection: The rockshed at Camp 6, Kennon Road, Tuba, Benguet was built to shield the road and residential areas from falling rocks but based on President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s ocular, failed to serve its purpose. 6) Slope: Rocks and soil debris continue to slide along the slopes of Kennon Road, due to the rains. The mountain’s aging and operation of small-scale mines at the site are also blamed for the fragility of the slopes. — Rimaliza A. Opina
