President BBM dismayed over Camp 3 Rockshed

1) PBBM and MBBM: President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. inspected on 24 Aug 2025, the damaged slope protection wall, the controversial rockshed at Camp 6, and rocknets at Camp 3, both in Kennon Road in Tuba, Benguet. Baguio City Mayor Benjamin Magalong, former chair of the BLISTT Development Authority assisted the President during the inspection. — Rimaliza A. Opina

2) PBBM reporters: President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. expressed to reporters his dismay to the Department of Public Works and Highways for alleged misuse of government funds in the implementation of several infrastructure projects in Benguet. — Rimaliza A. Opina

3) PBBM rockshed: As part of his continuing effort for government offices to judiciously spend public funds, President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. inspected on Aug. 24, the rockshed at Camp 6, and rocknets installed along Kennon Road Camp 3, both in Tuba, Benguet. — Rimaliza A. Opina

4) PBBM_Sal-ongan: Tuba, Benguet Mayor Clarita Sal-ongan and some key officials of the municipal government were also present during President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s inspection at Camp 6 and Camp 3, at Kennon Road. — Rimaliza A. Opina

5) Rockshed and slope protection: The rockshed at Camp 6, Kennon Road, Tuba, Benguet was built to shield the road and residential areas from falling rocks but based on President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s ocular, failed to serve its purpose. The DPWH and municipal officials of Tuba, said in separate interviews denied the President’s allegations. — Rimaliza A. Opina

6) Slope: Rocks and soil debris continue to slide along the slopes of Kennon Road, due to the rains. The mountain’s aging and operation of small-scale mines at the site are also blamed for the fragility of the slopes. — Rimaliza A. Opina
