San Fernando, La Union, July 21,2026 –The Provincial Government of La Union (PGLU) ensures the safety and cleanliness of rivers and inland waters across 20 ecotourism areas in the province. This is achieved through regular water quality monitoring led by the Provincial Government-Environment and Natural Resources Office (PG-ENRO) as part of its environmental management.

The PG-ENRO monitors stations at Kinmadilyan Falls in Sudipen, Maragayap River in Brgy. Bungol, Balaoan, Tangadan Falls in San Gabriel, Bulalakaw Falls in Bagulin, Tapuakan River in Pugo, Occalong Falls in Luna, Baroro River in Bacnotan, Tuddingan Falls in Naguilian, Budahaw Falls in Burgos, Simminublan Falls and Anito Falls in Santol, Ifugao River in Tubao, Aringay River in Aringay, and Water Quality Monitoring Stations in Rosario, Sto. Tomas, and San Juan.

Through the collected data, the PG-ENRO evaluates water quality and conditions in the province. The goal is to identify environmental concerns to provide immediate solutions and implement effective environmental management. This data supports programs for pollution prevention, sustainable water management, and the conservation of aquatic ecosystems. The government conducts monthly monitoring to maintain cleanliness and support La Union’s water conservation initiatives.
