PDEA-CAR Leads Destruction of ₱7.4M Worth of Illegal Drugs in Benguet

La Trinidad, Benguet — March 31, 2026 – Cordillera drug enforcement agencies burned P7.4 million worth of seized marijuana stalks and leaves at Camp Dangwa, Benguet.

In line with the government’s intensified campaign against illegal drugs, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency–Cordillera Administrative Region (PDEA-CAR) regional director Mr. Martin Francia spearheaded the ceremonial destruction of confiscated marijuana at the Parade Ground, Camp Major Bado Dangwa, La Trinidad, Benguet. The event was carried out with the support and participation of the Police Regional Office Cordillera Administrative Region (PRO-CAR) personnel under regional director PBGen Ericson D. Dulag.

Authorities reported that the destroyed contraband had a total Standard Drug Price of ₱7,432,567.20. The haul included:
- 39,177.17 grams of dried marijuana leaves and stalks seized in Brgy. Sagubo, Kapangan, Benguet (Feb. 13, 2026)
- 2,889.85 grams of dried marijuana leaves confiscated in Brgy. Betag, La Trinidad, Benguet (Mar. 3, 2026)
- 19,871.06 grams of dried marijuana leaves and stalks recovered in Brgy. Caponga, Tublay, Benguet (Mar. 12, 2026)
The illegal drugs were documented through official chemistry reports before their destruction, ensuring transparency and accountability in the process.
During the ceremony, Mr. Francia expressed gratitude to PRO-CAR for its strong inter-agency coordination and active participation in anti-illegal drug operations. He emphasized that the collaboration between agencies has been crucial in the successful confiscation and disposal of the substances.
This destruction marks another milestone in the government’s ongoing campaign to curb the proliferation of illegal drugs in the Cordillera region.
