BUGUIAS, Benguet – On 19 September 2025, a massive landslide occurred at Barangay Catlubong, Buguias, Benguet due to incessant rains brought about by recent typhoons and the Southwest monsoon that waterlogged the mountain’s terrain and topsoil. This made it susceptible to landslides. Residents in the upper area of the barangay fear for the worst with the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) announcement of an incoming weather disturbance named Typhoon Nando.
