BURGOS, La Union – As part of efforts to promote the undiscovered beauty and activities that the other parts of this province have to offer, the Provincial Government of La Union invites the public to visit and marvel at the stunning Barangay of Libtong of this town, where nature is at its best.
The hut is said to be the origin of the lake when a dog scratched and the water came out to cover the area.
Barangay Libtong, which is around six kilometers away from the main highway of Burgos, hosts the Libtong-Imelda Lake, a spot that the barangay identified as one of its main attractions.
Soft brooms and woven bags are just a few of the products available at Burgos, La Union.
The six-foot deep lake is a breathtaking sight, offering a perfect view of the location surrounded by valleys of farms and lush mountains. The surrounding area of the lake itself is a perfect spot for picnics and Instagrammable photos.
According to Libtong Punong Barangay Edwin Moya, the lake developed naturally, as it location used to be a community. Based on accounts, one of the houses in the area had a pet dog which dug a hole beside a post of the house. Water then sprung from the hole profusely, submerging the area until it became a lake now occupying more than one hectare.
Aside from the Libtong-Imelda Lake, Barangay Libtong also offers souvenir items and local products proudly La Union made.
Moya, with the support of the municipal government headed by Burgos Mayor Delfin Comides, invites the public to visit their quaint but beautiful town and experience the locals’ hospitality and sites waiting to be discovered and enjoyed.
