The Benguet Provincial Police Office (BPPO) turned over mobility devices and other forms of assistance to various beneficiaries who were identified as recipients of the Project “Gulong ng Suerte”.
Police personnel with medical conditions also received cash assistance during the launch of the Project “Gulong ng Suerte” on Sept. 2.
During the project launch on 2 September, the BPPO, headed by Col. Lambert A. Suerte, turned over wheelchairs to individuals with mobility disability, supplies, and cash assistance to BPPO personnel suffering from medical conditions. The Philippine Red Cross-Benguet also turned over hygiene kits to the beneficiaries.
Project Gulong ng Suerte was launched in collaboration with the BPPO Provincial Advisory Group for Police Transformation and Development (PAGPTD) chaired by Benguet Gov. Melchor D. Diclas.
The Benguet Provincial Police Office, under the leadership of Col. Lambert A. Suerte, together with Benguet Gov. Melchor D. Diclas led the turn over wheelchairs to 16 beneficiaries during the launch of the Project “Gulong ng Suerte” on Sept. 2.
Diclas said the PAGPTD has also allotted funds to be used to purchase wheelchairs that will be given to other beneficiaries.
The project is an initiative that aims to reach out to people with mobility impairment by providing them assistive devices, particularly wheelchairs, to help them live a meaningful and productive life.
Suerte said the project started during his stint as head of the Regional Mobile Force Battalion (RMFB) in Region IV-A.
Project Gulong ng Suerte has been adopted in RMFB-National Capital Region, Police Regional Office 1-La Union Provincial Police Office, and now at the Police Regional Office CAR-BPPO.
Suerte said the project has since benefitted 2,000 individuals from various parts of the country and more from Benguet will be identified.
