Classes suspended K-12 at noon due to strong rains
Baguio City – Mayor Benjamin Magalong issued Executive Order 68 suspending classes from noon time for pre-school to Senior High School today due to weather forecast indicating the southwest monsoon rains affecting the City and other parts of Luzon.
The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) issued a forecast that included the Cordillera Administrative Region in the areas to experience moderate to heavy rainfall with potential risk of flash floods and landslide as a result of the weather disturbance. Typhoon Bising returned to the Philippine Area of Responsibility on July 5 causing strong winds and rain in the northern parts of Luzon.
EO 68, pursuant to the General Welfare Clause as stated in Republic Act No. 7160, is the Local Government Unit’s exercise of powers to declare the school suspension.
