Abra gets P20 rice in ‘Handog ng Pangulo’

Senior Citizen Consuelo Biado is grateful for the cheap rice.
Bangued, Abra residents and other nearby municipalities on 19 September 2025 availed of the P20 per kilo rice in celebration of President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr’s 68th birthday in ‘Handog Ng Pangulo: Serbisyong Sapat Para Sa Lahat.’

Governor Eustaquio Bersamin recognized the importance of the affordable rice program, especially to the marginalized sectors. He said, “Adu ti pila diayay P20 per kilo a bagas gapu iti rigat ti panagbiag ngem addan ti P20 per kilo a bagas. Dagita ti program ni BBM, daytoy kunada nga Bagong Pilipinas, suportaran tayo.”
With the program led by the National Food Authority, Department of Agriculture, and the Provincial Government, residents were able to buy a maximum of 10 kilograms of rice at P20 per kilo.
“Dakkel nga panagyaman ta adda ti nalaka nga bagas nga magatang. Makatulong daytoy kanyami ta adda nalaklaka nga gumatangan ta awan met pag-apitan,” senior citizen Consuelo Biado from Zone 3, Bangued appreciated the affordable and quality rice to communities while helping local rice farmers sell their produce.
