Baguio City – The Baguio General Hospital and Medical Center (BGHMC) Advisory Board, led by President Joey Rulla, Past Vice-President Joseph Rulla, and members of the Board, donated 300 blankets to the hospital’s charity wards as part of their continuing outreach program on January 20, 2026.

The donation was formally received by Dr. Honorio Ma. A. Pangilinan, Jr., Medical Specialist IV of BGHMC, who expressed gratitude to the group for their generosity and consistent support to indigent patients.

Nora Mangusan, head of BGHMC Social Services, provided the number of patients in each ward to ensure proper distribution. Social workers from the Flavier Building assisted Advisory Board members in handing out the blankets directly to patients.

This initiative forms part of the Advisory Board’s annual blanket donation project, which has been running for the past five years. Last year, the Emergency Room received 100 blankets to help transport patients more comfortably to their designated wards.

President Rulla highlighted that the group’s fundraising efforts, particularly the Merienda Cena project in partnership with Venus Parkview Hotel, have also supported other hospital needs. Proceeds from the event purchased water dispensers for the Pediatric Oncology Ward and the Malasakit Center, benefiting patients and clients alike.

He emphasized that the Advisory Board continues to respond to requests from the hospital’s Social Welfare staff, ensuring that projects directly benefit indigent patients and improve their comfort during hospitalization.
