May 1 fires off the Baguio City National High School Alumni Homecoming with a Fun Run at 4:00 A.M. and a gala Prom Night coronation of Homecoming Queen and King ends the May 2 activities, according to 2001 and 1976 Host Classes at the Kapihan sa Baguio.
Michaelangelo Sayo of the 25 years Jubilarian Class said that the Fun Run starts with the 12 km runners at 4:15 a.m. from the BCNHS grounds followed by the 6 km and the 3 km runners on May 1. The registration is still open at P499 for 3 kms, P699 for 6 kms, and P899 for 12 kms for interested participants.

Martina Sales of the Golden Jubilarian Class of 1976 said that the Promenade with the Coronation of the Homecoming Prom Queen and King will be repeated by their class as a gala in their contribution to this year’s highlight. This will be done at the Hotel Supreme according to Shiela de Castro of the host class. A parade will be showcasing the different classes of MPHS, BCNHS, and BCHS in the morning who will gather at the Auditorium for the Grand Homecoming on May 2.
De Castro noted that a Barrio Fiesta will be held on May 1 at the City High Grounds where all the classes will have opportunities to have stalls to sell their goods and raise funds. A DJ will provide music for the dance that will end the day. A Thanksgiving mass will be held at the Balai Ti Alumni earlier.
According to Alumni President Sonia Daoas, the search for the Outstanding Alumni begins on January 7. Nomination forms will be available at the Balai Ti Alumni office from Tuesday to Sunday during office hours. Â She said that Board of Trustee member Paul Fianza heads the committee to screen the nominations and awarded on May 2.
The organizers choosing the theme New Wave say that this homecoming will be unique in that the younger jubilarians have added more activities each month to generate more awareness for activities leading to the Grand Alumni Homecoming that hopes to bring more than 1,000 alumni from the city, other provinces, and abroad to this year’s gathering.
Host class representative Sarah Ganancial said that the registration fee is P1,500 where P300 goes to the Alumni dues. Non-alumni and family members will be charged P1,200.
