Fire guts 11 homes at Purok 5 Barangay Gibraltar

Baguio City – Some 11 houses were gutted by a fire at Purok 5 Barangay Gibraltar today at 9:00 am, according to PTV 4 Cordillera.

The fire started at the home of Ramon Soriano, according to residents, who arrived at the site while the structures were ablaze. He said he did not know what could have started the fire.

SFO1 Lloyd Ashley Furigay, PIO, BFP, said that the origin and cause of the fire was still unknown and under investigation.

Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Regional Director Maria Aplaten said that the agency was ready to extend building materials, food, and water assistance to the victims as well as financial assistance.

The fire was reported at 9:07 am and officially declared fire out at 10:20 am.
