Indeed, 3-in-One is a popular term for popular coffee blends that have perfectly combined ingredients of instant coffee, cream, and sugar that meet most human taste for coffee drinks. But in this instance, three local artists join creative juices for the exhibit at Luisa’s Cafe second floor along Session Road.

Patric Palasi, known for using coffee as medium in his artworks, explores acrylic on canvas in his masterpieces depicting lifeways in old villages. He captures the native homes in wood and thatched roofs with the images of women doing daily chores in their natural milieu. Like coffee, he represents the cultural roots of life in these parts of the country.

Glo Abaeo on the other hand is the newbie in the art scene as the cream to the blend. Abaeo has emerged with her distinct white accent on her figures that draw contrast to the bright colors of her artworks. She is able to draw visual focus on each element in her canvas. Most of her artworks deal with the local festive occasions and attire.

Roland Bay-an, the seasoned artist is the sugar to the trio. His images are mellow themes of life that show the good things and slow pace of life. His colors are subdued and earthy. His strokes are deliberate and accentuate the more important features of the human body. He has explored forms and shadows in many expressions.
The exhibit shows the colorful and happier themes of mountain lifestyles. The mood exudes the happier moments of living, past and present. Like early morning coffee that perks us up, the body of works are combinations of the artists’ personality and identifying strokes that have the full flavor of brewed freshly ground coffee with a little cream and sugar.
